Another cat has been deserted with channel tape all over its mouth, in a cardboard box. The cat was left to die in a box outside the Baldwin Park animal shelter. When this two=year=old male cat was found, he was reportedly close to death.
Abraham Contreras, a worker at the shelter spotted a box in the parking lot. When he opened the box he found a cat with its mouth, nose, and feet wrapped in red duct tape, gasping for breath.
Consequently, the authorities were called in. And an investigation is ongoing into who bound and left this poor cat in the parking lot.
What happened with this poor cat next?
The cat had tape over his face as well as on its paws and the poor thing was barely able to move. Authorities are saying that all of the tapes has been removed and the cat is expected to make a full recovery.
The cat has been named Amigo by the staff at the Los Angeles County Department of Animal Care.
“Wow. I just couldn’t believe anyone would do that to an animal.” – Contreras told Ktla.
A spokeswoman, named Evelina Villa, is calling this ‘one of the most peculiar and maybe one of the cruelest acts of cruelty’ she has ever seen.
“He’s a little bit overwhelmed. He was fearful at first, but he’s opening up a little. We’re just happy he’s okay.” – Evelina Villa said.
“I can’t imagine why someone would do this to a cat.” – DACC Director Marcia Mayeda said.
“Animal cruelty is heartbreaking, intolerable and usually a precursor to human violence.” – he also added.
