Farmer Saves A Few Abandoned Kittens – Later He Discovers That They Are Not What He Thought They Were

Something out of ordinary happened in Russia where a Russian farmer found some strange looking kittens in his barn. He strongly believed that he has saved some abandoned kittens, but soon, he discovered the truth. It’s a fact that he saved them because they desperately needed help in order to survive. But it is also true that they are not like all the other kittens you’re used to seeing.

Due to the fact that the farmer has never seen kittens that looked like these, he called the Daursky Nature Reserve. Once they saw them, they confirmed that these are not regular domestic cats. They are actually a rare species of wild cats.

What kind of wild cats are they?

They are called the Pallas’s cats or Manuls. They are small wild cats that are native to Central Asia and Eastern Europe. The reason why they are so rare is due to their habitat degradation, prey base decline, and hunting, and therefore, since 2002 they have been classified as near threatened.

It is quite easy to recognize them. They have really round pupils, short legs, and a flat-looking face. Their ears are wide-set opened. When it comes to their fur, it is about twice as long on their belly, and their tail too, compared to their top and sides. Their fur keeps them warm during the cold winters in their habitat.

Due to the fact that they were so small to survive on their own, the staff at the reserve decided to see it two regular cats would take care of the newborns. Luckily, they looked at them like they are one of their own babies.

Once they got to a certain age, they decided to take them back to the wild where they belong. Ever since these beautiful babies have adjusted well to their natural habitat and they are living the life they love.
